“The theater is the only institution in the world which has been dying for four thousand years and has never succumbed. It requires tough and devoted people to keep it alive.”

-John Steinbeck

A Non-profit Community Theater

The mission of Lake Eufaula Playhouse is to oversee the establishment and growth of a community theater for cultural enrichment to educate, enrich and empower our artists and audiences with live theater and performing arts.

Lake Eufaula Playhouse is a community theater that began its life in 2013. It started with a handful of locals who had a desire to bring theater and performing arts to our community. And they did that by performing their first play in March 2013, called “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.” It went over with such GREAT success it overwhelmed the small group. But they were excited and ready for more. Many of them came from a theater background of some kind and the bug had re-bitten them. They were ready to do another play …..right away.  They gathered more volunteers and we are the newly formed, Lake Eufaula Playhouse a non-profit 501c3.

We are a diverse, energetic group of theater lovers who want to bring live theater including, plays, singing performances, variety shows, musicals, youth and children's  theater, workshops, scholarships and more to Eufaula.

We are excited for 2017! Our plans are being made, volunteers, directors, and actors are being sought now. We will have a building fund and plan to have our own building one day. Lake Eufaula Playhouse is located in a unique little town, located right on Lake Eufaula and we are pleased to bring performing Arts to our community, adding another layer of culture, fun, and entertainment to the lake area. Community theater will enrich the lives of our children, neighbors and our community through participation and through added tourism and other economic business.
